Our Approach to Menopause Care
Hormone Replacement Therapy
When appropriate, HRT is one of the most effective treatments for menopause symptoms. We prescribe estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone based on your symptoms, health history, and goals. We use evidence-based protocols and monitor your response to optimize your treatment.
Vaginal Estrogen
Low-dose vaginal estrogen is safe, effective, and recommended starting in your late 30s to prevent tissue changes, dryness, and recurrent UTIs. It acts locally and does not carry the same considerations as systemic hormone therapy. We help patients start and maintain this important preventive care.
Long-Term Health
Menopause affects cardiovascular health, bone density, metabolic function, and cognitive health. Our care extends beyond symptom management to address these long-term concerns, with screening recommendations, lifestyle counseling, and treatment plans that protect your health for decades ahead.
Telehealth Menopause Care Across North Carolina
Most menopause visits can be completed via telehealth. Whether you live in Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Wilmington, or any NC community, our certified nurse-midwives can evaluate your symptoms, prescribe hormone therapy, and provide follow-up care through secure video visits. Prescriptions are sent electronically to your local pharmacy.
Menopause Care FAQs
If you are experiencing cycle changes, hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, vaginal dryness, or other symptoms that affect your daily life, it is a good time to schedule a visit. Perimenopause can begin in your late 30s or 40s, well before periods stop entirely.
For most people, HRT started within 10 years of menopause onset is both safe and beneficial. Current evidence supports that HRT reduces cardiovascular risk, protects bone density, and significantly improves quality of life. Your provider will review your individual health history to ensure HRT is appropriate for you.
Yes. Haven Health provides telehealth menopause consultations to patients across all of North Carolina. Symptom evaluation, HRT prescribing, follow-up monitoring, and vaginal estrogen management can all be handled via secure video visits. Patients in Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Asheville, Wilmington, Fayetteville, and every other NC community are welcome.
Vaginal estrogen is a low-dose, locally acting estrogen applied to the vaginal tissue. It helps prevent dryness, painful intercourse, recurrent UTIs, and tissue thinning. Current guidelines suggest starting vaginal estrogen in your late 30s to early 40s as a preventive measure, before symptoms become severe.
There is no mandatory age to stop HRT. Treatment duration is individualized based on your symptoms, health profile, and preferences. Many patients benefit from continued therapy well beyond the initial menopausal transition. Your provider will reassess your treatment plan regularly to ensure it still meets your needs.
