Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted infection that can occur in the vagina, penis, rectum or throat.
It often causes itching and abnormal discharge. For people with a vagina, it can cause bleeding outside of your period time. For people with a penis, the discharge is often clear and can be painful.
Gonorrhea is treated with a one-time injection and the same antibiotics that are used with chlamydia. Chlamydia and gonorrhea are often present at the same time, even if the test is negative. Co-treatment is recommended every time gonorrhea is diagnosed.
